Every year Mokkamestarit brings new micro-lot coffee from Huehuetenango to our selections because it is known to be one of Guatemala's top coffee-growing regions, and we know our customers love coffee here. This coffee from Anabelly Morales’ farm grabbed our attention on the cupping table among other cups because of its amazing quality.

This coffee is a fine combination of chocolate, cacao and citrus fruits, which is sweet, balanced and enjoyable, Overall, you can expect a clean and velvety mouthfeel with a pleasant acidity and a lingering aftertaste.

Anabelly is the third-generation coffee farmer in her family. The tradition, knowledge and love for coffee have been passed to her since a very young age as she learnt to do every job possible in the coffee chain. This 2.2-hectare farm (El Mirador) is an inheritance from her parents. They have been working together on this project for over 20 years, improving the quality day by day. The coffee plants are surrounded and shaded by several indigenous trees and citrus trees, with the environmental temperature ranging from 10-28 degrees Celcius, assuring a slow and gradual time for the coffee to develop its full flavour potential.

The processing phase starts 6 hours after picking. The coffee goes through a 32-hour fermentation in a water-saving and contamination-free tank, then washed thoroughly and finally gets to see the sun for 6-7 hours a day for the next 6 days (sun-dried on a patio). The result is a clean and complex cup of coffee for your daily dose of happiness.
