Female farmer Victoriana Ramirez is a second-generation coffee producer from the town of Conception Huista in the Huehuetenango coffee-growing area of Guatemala and has plenty to do on the 1.7-hectare T’zun Wit’z coffee farm.
During the harvest, he manually selects only the most ripe beans for processing and removes the flesh from them as early as the same day. The coffee is then fermented in tanks for 48 hours and, after washing, they are further soaked in clean water for 12 hours.
Victoriana has inherited her farm from her parents and she says she became acquainted with farming from an early age. The future of a hard-working female farmer includes hopes for developing her own coffee-growing skills and improving the quality of coffee. Victoriana has a husband and children and even though the children go to school, she teaches them their professional skills and hopes they will continue to farm in the future on the Ramirez family farm.
