This Fair Trade organic coffee comes from Aceh, located in the Indonesian island of Sumatra, where it gets its rich flavour from the volcanic soil.
Sumatra Gayo coffees have received a PGI status from the EU in 2017, which guarantees the authenticity of the products (just like French Champagne or Dutch Goat Cheese).
Coffee is processed using the Wet-hulling -method. Wet-hulling emphasises the coffee’s body and reduces its acidity. It is a process that is used only in Indonesia and it gives these coffees a unique taste.
